We are very proud to announce that JCB Construction Canada was selected to carry out the construction work. With almost 40 years of experience, an expert in LEED buildings and a front runner in carbon-neutral construction in Québec and Ontario, choosing them came easily.
This award-winning company for many of its green projects is behind the following cabon-neutral projects: the construction of the Collège Sainte-Anne in Dorval, Peterborough’s no. 2 fire station and the new Royalmount’s food court.
The wonderful Legico consultants team has been guiding us since the beginning of the project. On the picture on the right: Legico Project Manager Michel Germain, Assistant Project Manager, Maria Casilla, Legico President André Giroux and Sun Youth Project Manager Ernie Rosa.
We are in great hands!
Hammers and mechanical shovels - so happening !
Preparations for the start of construction started last week. We have been waiting for this moment for a long time.
Construction work in a residential neighborhood generates both curiosity and concern. In order to establish good relations with our neighbors, we’ve dropped a card in their mailbox informing them of our presence and the nature of the project. We look forward to contributing to the life of our new neighborhood!
Stay tuned for the official groundbreaking ceremony in mid-October.
Deconstruction vs demolition.
When working in a carbon-neutral way, we speak of deconstruction rather than demolition, as we try to conserve as many materials as possible in order to recycle them and reduce landfill disposal. This is not only an ecological gesture, but also an economical one. This technique is carried out by specialized personnel who, in order to observe more rigorous practices, are equipped with tools and machines enabling them to dismantle buildings. The process may be slower and more costly, but the planet will be better off this way.
